I have been overwhelmed with work and school lately. Sadly, I have had very little time for craftiness. I made this card ages ago, but don't think I have shared it yet. Have I?

Any big plans for the weekend? I am just hoping to get all my work stuff done, so I can have a little time to relax at some point.

All stamps, paper and ribbon are A Muse.

Power of 3

Yesterday was very productive in creativity lab. ;)  However, at one point the only thing I was creating was a mess and frustration. I had designed an entire class using only 3 colors- this wasn't a planned thing and I didn't realize it until I had all the cards finished. It was then that I thought of the Power of 3 and that it could be a fun challenge when I am stuck. Pick 3 colors, stamps, embellishments etc and see how many cards you can create.

Here is my first challenge.

 

Use the following colors Orange Crush, Cabana Blue and Lime Peel. If  you don't have these colors, you can always use something similar.

Use the following stamps Snorkel Boy, Beach Sign, or Sailboat.

Here are my cards. Of course, I made THREE.

After the first and second attempts were a total flop, I finally made madeleins. I bought the pan last year in Paris, so evertime I made them I would be reminded of Paris. I really can't believe it's been a year since that trip. I am so ready to go back...anyone??? I know this is a small goal on my list of 101, but it's still fun. I am in the process of working on one of the bigger ones now.

If it weren't for Elena, I wouldn't know that I met this goal. I sent in a bunch of cards ages ago and totally forgot about them. I was excited to find 4 of my cards in the current issue of Take Ten.

Now to work on some more goals since I have been slacking lately.

Isn't he the cutest thing ever. Just a quick post this today. Back to work after a long weekend is just exhausting. So, don't forget to have a little fun today. *wink* I think this is my favorite sentiment of the Summer release.

OK it's official. This is my favorite release EVER. Do I say this every time though? But really this time, it's true.

 

I played around with my Copics to make her jeans look very old. Don't pirates wear old clothes? I guess that depends on who you ask.

amuse-bouche: a warm hello

 

Here is a quick and easy card using the new 'orca'. I remember as a child I wanted to be either a dolphin or whale trainer- then I realized that I don't really like swimming and have a fear of drowning, so that career was out. But I still love seeing them. I have yet to see an orca in the wild though.

I don't know how it's happening, but the more I use these Summer stamps- the more I love them. And I keep saying to myself 'self you are NOT a Summer person'. If you know me, you know that from May through at least August much of my time is spent complaining about how hot it is. They call it Hotlanta for a reason, ya know. But now I am thinking, maybe if I lived on a beach without much humidity I could easily become a Summer person.

 

Have you noticed all the fun sentiments in this release. It just doesn't get much better.

Life is good....

especially with a little beach amuse-bouche. I am not really a beach person, but yet I LOVE all the new beach stamps. I may just become a beach person. Sign me up for a shady cabana any day though- add a good book and a cabana boy to bring me a drink and I am set. ;)

 

Thanks to Jill, I discovered that I could color clear twinkles any color I needed using my Copics. That girl is brilliant eh?
