I think it is our duty to eat ice cream every day this month. Well, at least that's what I am going to try to do.
I had a vision of a card in my head when I started designing this and it looks nothing like that vision. Oh well, I still like it. Sometimes you just gotta go where the muse leads ya.
What is your favorite ice cream flavor? I am a total chocolate girl- add in some Butterfingers and I'm a happy girl.
Remember I told you that I had a great idea the other day. Sometimes we may only have a couple of minutes to make a card. While other times you may have more time and want to make a more involved card. In this series I will show you a simple card and how to take it from Simple to simply WOW!!!
Remember this card? It probably took less than 3 minutes to make it. Lindsay suggested this would be great as a set of notecards. I love that idea!! It would take no time to make a great gift for a golfer.
Have an extra minute? Stamp the golfer on a scrap of navy paper and just cut out the pants to add to the card. I love a little paper piecing on my cards.
I grabbed a few Tombow markers to add just a bit more color to his shirt and hat. I like to use the Tombows for one layer cards as they don't bleed through to the inside of the card if you just add a light layer of color. And lastly, I gave the golfer a tee and a twinkle sticker ball.
I can't wait to share more Simple to Simply wow cards with you!! Hey, I may even get back into my scrapbooking again.
I am so excited to tell you about our new A Muse Studio Spotlight. For one month, you'll receive a 10% discount on selected stamps and papers. Seaglass Assortment Pack contains four sheets each:
Yay, I made and posted all 5 cards!! Gotta celebrate the little accomplishments *wink*. This is another simple one layer card that I think is perfect for the guys in our lives.
I lightly inked the guitar in each color to give it even more of a grunged effect. I am really loving the colors stamped directly onto the Kraft paper. Do you have kraft paper? You really need to get some. This is seriously the best kraft paper EVAH!!!
Happy Friday and I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned!!
I have seen discussions about 'innate creativity'. Is creativity something you are born with or can you develop creativity. I am a firm believer that we are all born with some type of creativity, but it can also be developed and evolve over time. One girl mentioned that she could 'CASE' cards from others, but became stuck if she tried to create on her own.
I so remember feeling the same way when I began this process. When left to my own devices, I made some ugly stuff. Sadly, much of it is documented on my blog for all to see *wink*. Well I began finding cards that 'spoke' to me from others and just changing a little bit to make it my own. You do not have to reinvent the wheel to be creative. I fell in love with some of Julie's designs and would change the color or the stamps to make them my own.
She posted this video recently, so I thought I would use it as an example of how you can use someone ele's design to create something that is unique.
I changed just a few things to make a unique card. Finding inspiration from someone's design is a great way to get you out of that creative rut and bring back your mojo.
It is that time of year- wedding season. This card turned out completely different from the image I had in my head when I started. Thankfully, I like it much better than my original plan. LOVE when that happens!
This is the perfect card for an engagment or bridal shower/luncheon. May be a little too pink and girly for anything else.
Happy Monday!! It keeps coming back so quickly. But more shocking is that the year is almost halfway over. How is that even possible?!?!
With Father's Day right around the corner, I thought I'd share some masuculine cards this week!
I am all about the simple cards. I just can't seem to add much to my cards. I try to emulate the more complex designs, but I think I am just a simple kinda gal.
The eyelet adds the 'little something' to this card. Ya know, every card needs that little something that makes it POP a bit.
